The Tallest Structure in Selma

If you look at the top of the structure you will see the Christmas tree. The tree stays up all year. It is powered on for Christmas.

Bird and Roses

I took this shot of my neighbor’s flowers from my yard with my old Olympus 2100 Ultra Zoom. This is actually two shots. I took a shot of the roses and the bird was out of focus. I focused on the bird and took a shot and the flowers were out of focus. I then cut the bird out and layered it over the out of focused bird.

Yellow and Orange

I call this yellow and orange because I do not have a clue as to what this flower is called.

Angle on Bench

The flowers in the background are in hanging baskets. Makes for a good background. Unlike Bobby, the angel was very cooperative and gave me a pose. Even the rabbit at the end of the bench did not move for this shot.

Bobby

This is Bobby, lives in the neighborhood and very seldom comes out for a photo op. Bobby is very active when out in the yard. I must have taken thirty pictures to get this one keeper.

View from the tracks

I was down the tracks with my Canon/zoom lens when I took this picture. The water tower is a great distance from the signal light. The zoom lens pulls it up to give the impression of closeness.

Pink Clematis

I was about ready to turn my camera off when I saw this small bushy plant with this cluster of pink flowers. They just jumped out and got my attention. This turned out to be one of my better pictures of the day.

Garden Phlox

I believe this is phlox, but I am not totally sure. Not used to seeing phlox of this color. If I am wrong please let us know.

Not a Bird Box

This is a photo of a newspaper box and mail box mounted on the same post. I just love the thick green grass in the background.

Mock Orange

Photo of my mock orange shrub in the back yard. Description: Large shrub with upright, spray like branches. White double and semi double flowers are extremely fragrant in late spring. I got this description from my Lowe’s plant guide.

I was taking pictures with my Canon/zoom lens when I came across this shot. It would not come under the category of green lighting, but it is unique, don’t you think.

Fresh Fo

If you drive down the service road beside Interstate 95, you will see this sign at the entrance to DeWayne’s Home and Garden. No, we don’t talk this way in Selma. I believe some letters fell off the sign.

Hang it up

I am always being scolded for not putting things back where I got them. This a garden hose and nozzle that I forgot to put back. Why heck I will use it again tomorrow.

Hampton

Selma is at the intersection of I95 & 70 about half way between New York and Florida. It makes for a nice place to stop and spend the night.

Climbing Clematis

This is my climbing clematis in my back yard. The flowers are large about 5 or 6 inches in diameter. It took about three years to get the plant of size, but now it is about ten years old and fills the trellis up every year.

As you can see from the price of gas, I took this picture a couple of weeks ago. Traffic was heavy on this Saturday morning, probably heading to the beach.

Clocks

I am always the last to post on theme day. Matter of fact I did not know what theme day was until I looked at other posts. Did not have time to take a picture so I pulled up a photo of clocks that I took in New Bern, NC. New Bern, North Carolina’s colonial capital was founded in 1710 by Baron Christopher de Graffenried of Bern, Switzerland.

Santa in April

I was down town Selma sitting on a bench when I looked up and saw Santa looking down at me. The July and August sun might do a number on this plastic Santa.

Black Rabbit

This is the neighborhood rabbit. Not your run of the mill small gray rabbet, but a large black rabbit. This rabbit probably started out as someone’s pet.
