Nice bunch of Daylilies

The daylilies are blooming in my back yard. This is a very large yellow daylily. If you see a nice daylily that you would like to photograph, you better have your camera and do it right then. Daylilies stay in bloom about one day. Do you think that is how they got the name?

Where did all the traffic go? Normally the traffic would be heavy at this intersection.

This is a stuffed and mounted turkey. And I believe it was a wild turkey in it’s past life. I took this photo in the auto parts store in Selma.

The youngest runner

The thing that I used to find unique about road racing was when you laced up the shoes and put on the running shorts you were all competitors, fast and slow, young and old with one goal, to complete the race. The age span in this race was 71 years old with a time of 22:50 and 8 years old with a time of 30:44.

And the race is on.

Runners start to spread out after the start of the race. The Selma 5K course is flat and fast with a long home stretch after the two mile point. This is a very good course if I do say so. I laid the course out thirty- two years ago when I was running.

Lovely Spot

I was uptown Selma taking flower pot pictures when I looked across Anderson Street and saw this scene. I am told that a gentlemen at The Treasury planted, maintains and, yes, waters this garden. Anyone that would take pride and ownership of their store front like this is deserving of the “Lovely Spot” award.
