Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang. No it is not snowing in Selma; I took this photo some years back. The Charlie Brown characters at Christmas have been a tradition at our house for 38 years. Thanks, Charles Schultz and a Merry Christmas to all.

Silent Night

All is quiet at the Selma Union Station. But I am reminded of the times back in the forties when this station was bustling. People would be waiting on Christmas Eve for the 10:55 from New York, hoping that their loved ones would arrive in time for Christmas.
From Selma, North Carolina – USA, we wish for you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday. And most of all – PEACE.

Christmas Carolers

Just what I needed to get the Christmas spirit. The Edgerton Methodist carolers stopped in front of my house tonight and sang Christmas carols. I grabbed my camera and walker and went outside and took this picture. This was my first picture since I returned from the hospital. It made my day. And yes the tradition of Christmas caroling still prevails in Selma.

Classic Car

This is one of the queens riding in a classic car in the Selma Christmas Parade this year. Don’t know what kind of car it is but it is nice.

Back at home

Eureka! After three weeks I am back at my computer and photo blogging again.
I went to Wake Med thinking I was going to have a heart catheterization and possibly another stent, but did I get a surprise, I got a quadruple bypass, which has put me out of commission for a while. I am feeling much better now but still use a walker to get around. It will be a while before I am out taking pictures again. So if you will allow me to bend the rules a bit I will be posting some pictures from the past until I am able to get back out and take some current pictures.

Clayton Bypass

Hello, I'm Lewis' son Robert. I'll be doing a few guest blogs because my father has been in the hospital. I was supposed to make this posting last week, but I'm afraid that I posted somewhere else. If anyone sees a stray blog floating around, it is probably mine!
Lewis had heart surgery earlier this week, and he is progressing nicely. We just got him from intensive care to a normal room today, and he is sitting up and doing fine. He should be returning home by early next week.
Even though we have internet access from his hospital room he is not going to feel like using the computer for a while. I'll try to drop by and leave a post every day, and I might even come up with something interesting to say before I'm done.
For today we have another picture taken from the new Clayton bypass.
