This barn and shelter caught my eye as I was riding around on Saturday, so I stopped and took this picture..

Reflections

I took this picture of the Serving Spoon store front window in Pine Level . After I downloaded the pictures, then I saw the reflections.

Mule Pen

I would guess that this building was used to house mules back in the 1930’s and 40’s. Back in those days mules were used as the primary farming power.

Bird Bath

Too cold now but soon my neighbor will have this bird bath full of water so the birds will have a place to take a dip on a hot day.

Waiting for Spring.

This chair looks like it is waiting for spring weather. As you can see, the grass is starting to green and soon the brown grass will be gone.

Pine Cone

We have a lot of pine trees in this part of the state. The pine straw from these trees makes great mulch to use around the bushes to keep the grass from growing. As you can see in this picture, the grass is winning.

Irrigation system

This is part of my irrigation system that I have connected to my shallow wells in the back yard. I should have used copper faucets. The sun makes the PVC handles brittle which results in breaking.

Signs of Spring

I took this picture of the beautiful white flowers on a bush in my back yard. Don’t know what kind of bush it is. I have the tag somewhere in my garage that was attached to it when planted about twenty-five years ago. Maybe some day I will find the tag and let you know the name of the bush.

Welcome

Although the gates were open to this property, I saw signs posted on the fence saying “Keep Out”.

Ducks

I captured this picture of two ducks enjoying the unusual warm weather last week.

The Winery

This building was used as a winery some years ago until it went bust. The well-maintained pond is another fill dirt excavation for I95.

Pond No. 2

This is another pond, the result of dirt excavating for fill dirt to be used in the construction of I95. In the spring this pond is full of water lilies.

The Pond

This is a pond beside I95 North in Selma. When I95 was being constructed, dirt was removed from this field to use as fill dirt. You can see the results; it is now a frog and snake pond.

Don’t take my picture

I was driving around and saw these two geese beside a pond. Got out of the car to take a picture. As you can see, these two wanted no part of that; they turned tail and headed the other way.

Tax time.

It’s time to file my taxes, so I am in the process of ordering TurboTax 2008.

I was walking around the block when I saw the March wind fill this flag.

Stop

It looks like the stop sign is in the front yard of this home. Actually it is across the street from the home. I took this picture with my zoom lines while I was standing about a block away.

The daffodils are blooming in Selma.

It is obvious that this home owner is a University of North Carolina fan.

This is a good way to display this antique bowl and pitcher.

Classic Pedal Car

This is a toy car that kids would get for Christmas back in the 1930’s. As you can see in the second picture, it was propelled by foot power

Water Tower

This is the water tower that yesterday’s post was taken from.
Yes, I took this picture, but let me state again I did not climb this tower and take yesterday’s photo. I have a seven foot ladder that I use to take pictures of parades, and seven feet is approaching my limit.
